It has been a tremendously successful EUROPETOUR meeting in Suceava, Romania this past summer. From participating in a traditional dance with the locals, to marvelling at the skilled craftspeople of the Bucovina area, to being literally taken away & left breathless in front of the UNESCO World Heritage painted outdoor fresco churches: EUROPETOUR is European cultural tourism development at its best. To this end, the entire project team is working hard to develop multilingual training modules for stakeholders in cultural heritage tourism across Europe, based on the outcome of the EUROPETOUR survey.
Those modules, which are currently developed further by our project partner Dr. Wolfgang Eisenreich from Austria, are listed as follows:
- Destination characterization
- Development & positioning of tourism products and services
- Marketing strategy & planning instruments
- Distribution and sales channels for cultural tourism products
- Communication strategy and planning
- Networking and cooperation
- Financial planning
- Development of a business plan
Given the diversity of EUROPETOUR partners across several countries, individual modules will be made available according to the requirements of the single regions and target participants. Please follow us on our blog, Facebook & Twitter pages to receive firsthand, the updates & outcomes of these training developments and learn how to apply them to your specific cultural tourism qualification needs.
Next up: europetour goes vicenza! From 9-11 november, our project partner frh (future for religious heritage) will host their biennial conference called “tourists, travellers & Pilgrims” – religious heritage in today’s europe.
The conference is set to engage its participants in an on-going debate as to how best to involve and engage people in religious heritage. It is held in such a leading cultural tourism destination as Vicenza, near the world-famous cities of Venice & Verona, and will offer several study tours and visits designed around the core mission of the EUROPETOUR project meeting, too: How to best focus on developing and managing cultural heritage tourism development.
