ITB Berlin 2018: Come & Meet the EUROPETOUR team!

Yes, it’s THIS time of the year again: Thousands of trade visitors are gathering to join the world’s largest travel trade show ITB Berlin, which is taking place from 6-11 March, 2018. The EUROPETOUR team, represented by Karin Drda-Kühn (Association Culture & Work), Elena & Hermann Paschinger (Kreativ Reisen Österreich), as well as Stefan Beier (Klosterland), wish to welcome you there.

culture lounge, e-Travel congress & press conference at itb berlin

If you are a representative of the media, you are welcome to join our press conference organised by EUROPETOUR partner Kreativ Reisen Österreich, in association with 50plus Hotels on Thursday, 8 March 2018 at 11.30 hrs. We will discuss current trends in culture travel, analyse the travelling behaviour of the German market (see “Deutsche Reiseanalyse” for more), and also inform about news and events on behalf of EUROPETOUR. On Friday, 9 March 2018, at 3.30 p.m., join Karin Drda-Kühn at Hall 7.1c, eTravel Lab for her presentation about “Megatrend Cultural Tourism : Chances for digital start-ups“. From an entrepreneurial point of view, cultural tourism offers a multitude of innovative business fields: Interdisciplinarity, digitalisation and the use of Social Media play the most important role in unlocking economic potential. Culture & Work Managing Director Dr. Karin Drda-Kühn will talk about the possibilities and prerequisites of digital start-ups, including good examples from Germany, Iceland and Macedonia! The presentation can be seen/heard in Lifestream; simultaneous translation German / English is offered.

Also on Friday, 9 March 2018, at 10.00 a.m., EUROPETOUR offers another event for all our German speaking friends and colleagues: In the CultureLounge in hall 16 at ITB (a MUST for all those interested in cultural tourism!), Lara Buschmann  of EUROPETOUR partner Klosterland, Karin Drda-Kühn (EUROPETOUR partner Association Culture & Work) and Matthias Burzinski (project2508) will talk about “Cultural Tourism in Germany and Europe: A Comparison. Insights into the current business practice of stakeholders in culture and tourism in Germany and Europe”.  Check out the whole CultureLounge program for even more inspiring talks and presentations!

 

europetour: The first training modules in seven european languages have already been published.

These are:

  • Target area characterisation (strengths and weaknesses, tourism policy, existing networks and support systems, data analysis)
  • Development and positioning of tourism products and services (target groups, partners, target group attainment)
  • Marketing strategy and planning (instruments, evaluation)
  • Distribution and distribution channels (distribution partners for cultural tourism products).

The training courses are aimed at both tourism and cultural professionals. Please refer to our website section Training Modules for more. By autumn of 2018, four further modules will be available:

  • Communication strategy and planning
  • Networking and cooperation
  • Financial budgeting
  • Development of a business plan.
