The EUROPETOUR Survey

EUROPETOUR calls upon all stakeholders in cultural tourism, tourism destination management companies, local community members and economic institutions to participate in this valuable survey. Our aim is to gather experiences from cultural tourism management across Europe in order to identify areas of interest for further education and training. Participating in this survey allows us to better understand how cultural tourism in rural area works and which tools are necessary for stakeholders to achieve their goals (“more visitors”, “more overnight stays”, “more income”).

EUROPETOUR takes off in Bad Wimpfen

From December 1st – 4th, the regional tourism association Heilbronner Land, who is one of the ten EUROPETOUR partners, is hosting the first-ever gathering of this prestigious European cultural tourism project. The little town north-west of the Baden-Württemberg capital Stuttgart at the river Neckar is the perfect place for a project focused on European cultural tourism, according to managing director Tanja Seegelke: “Bad Wimpfen is a model for a small historic German city with a rich cultural history in a rural area.” Continue reading

EUROPETOUR – Developing cultural tourism networks in rural areas of Europe

Since 2011, the cultural tourism network KIRA developed and managed by the German association “Kultur und Arbeit” has been working on providing support to cultural tourism institutions, their employees and partners across the areas of the Taubertal, Hohenlohe and the country around Heilbronn. Now, its 250 members are set to benefit from another great achievement: The funding of the association by the European Commission as part of the EUROPETOUR project. Continue reading
